Concurrent use of Outlook 2003 and 2007

by joanne.e.m . Updated 18 years, 3 months ago

Is anyone aware of any known issues with using both Outlook 2003 and 2007 concurrently to synchronise with a single user account on an exchange server? Both versions are on seperate machines!

To explain the setup:-

I have a user who has one machine installed with Office 2003 and a second machine installed with Office 2007. Both versions of Outlook are setup with access to her e-mail. E-mail is setup using RPC to OWA hosted on a remote Exchange Server that is managed externally.

Problems experienced include:

– changes made to account in one version are not reflected in the second (e.g. movement of e-mails from inbox)

– if the user closes one version and continues using the second, then when she next opens the first version she has to run a detect and repair before it will launch. After this she then has to go to the second machine and run a detect and repair on that Outlook too
