Hi everyone. I am really stuck on this one now, and I am not an ISA guru by any means. I have a single SBS2003 server running IIS and ISA 2004. I was able to login to the OWA without a cert just fine. I was trying to setup active sync from a Windows Mobile device when it stated I need a cert for SSL. Ok, I bought a cert and installed it on the server. Now I get to site (https://mail.mydomain.com/exchange) and I get a page that says: “The Web server refused the connection, possibly because a service on the upstream server is inactive.”
I am trying to research this issue, but not having any luck resolving the issue.
There are some things I noticed though. In ISA, in the OWA publishing rule, in the “Bridging Tab”, the “Ridirect requests to SSL port” is UNCHECKED. If I check it, then go to add a certificate, it says: “There are no certificates configured on this server”. But when I visit the site from and webbrowser on the internet, I see that the site is using the certificate (page is secured) ALSO, if I check to use SSL (still in the bridging tab) but do not define a certificate, I now get a “The page you requested could not be reached.” from a web browser.
Obviously I need to learn ISA in depth to become an expert, but is there anything I can do to get this to work so I can understand what I’m doing wrong? In the end I wish to use ActiveSync on a mobile device to connect to the Exchange server with SSL, but ISA is in the way. 😉
