Configure printer on P2P network

by casemaker . Updated 24 years, 4 months ago

Hi,
I don’t have a lot of experience setting up this printer on the network. I need to assign an IP address. I followed the manual bu no luck. It is a Minolta Magicolor 6100 with a built in network interface. It wants me to assign its own IP address. I ran winipcfg angd got the IP and subnet of the cards and picked a random IP address. It did not work. Could you tell me how to set this printer up on the P2P network . The printer connects directly to the hub with a cat5 patch cable. On the printer I am able to go into a menu and pick the IP, subnet and hardware address’s. Do I pick any random address or is there a rule I should follow.
Thanks
