Configuring a Cisco 827 router - ADSL

By rieldave ·
I need help configuring a Cisco 827 router to be used as a router/modem for
an ADSL connection for a small- less than 10 PCs, peer-to-peer network.

I know the DNS servers, the static IP address assigned by the ISP, the
Encapuslation(PPPoE), the login id and password but I can't get the config
right, even with the help of a Cisco engineer. Ideally, a sample config
would be great. Also, I need to figure out how to point the browsers on
the PCs to the ADSL connection.

Configuring a Cisco 827 router - ADSL

Go to this URL:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/access/acs_fix/827/

This is the main page for hardware install, quick setup, and advanced configs (you will probably need this one for your configuration).

There are also sample configs there.

As far as setting up the PCs to get to the internet, make sure that the default gateway of each machine is set as the static IP given to you by your ISP (TCP/IP properties).

Hope that helps,
