configuring dns for my domain

I have a public ip address for my windows 2000 server.
I want to configure dns server with mx record for my email server.
is it possible.
if so what is the procedure

For a Win2k DNS server, Start->Programs->Admin. Tools->DNS. Right click to your domain ->Other New Records-> Mail Exchanger. Type yor mail server host name, DNS name and a preference number (i.e 10)
For a Win. NT 4 DNS server, open DNS Manager Right click to your domain ->New Record ->MX Record.
Type your mail server host name, DNS name and a preference number (i.e 10.
