Configuring Internal modem

I am currently running Linux Redhat 8.0, with another harddrive runing winxp pro, i connect to the internet with winxp pro, but if i boot with Linux i am unable to connect to the internet, how do i make linux recognise my internal modem, & dial out with it.Sometimes it shows a dialing command but nothing happens. what must I do?

There is a posibility that your modem's drivers arent installed for redhat 8. You might want to try and look for linux drivers at the manufactors website. When installing linux drivers, read the installation procedure, it helps a lot. Hope this helps

You must get the appropiate driver for your modem, chances are that there were not such drivers, depending on the kind of internal modem you are using. Check out Properties of My PC ---Device Manager--- Modem, to get the model and type of your modem on Windows XP. Then try to search if there are any matches in http://www.modem-help.co.uk/
