I am network administrator for a small company with multiple locations, each with its own IP range. I recently applied Windows XP Service Pack 2 on several, but not all, of the machines. I then was having problems accessing shares on the XP computers on other IP ranges that I had upgraded, but the ones that have not been upgraded still work fine. I tried turning off the Windows Firewall in the Domain Profile settings of the Firewall in Microsoft Management Console on the Domain Controller, which is running Windows Server 2003. No dice. Even after restarting the XP workstations and logging onto the domain, the firewall is turned on and greyed out. Any ideas?
