    Confluence – automation

    Locked

    by viratdevotee998 ·

I have a ‘fact of the day’ on confluence, but I’m looking for a way to have it automatically refresh with a new one once a day.
Is this possible? If so, how?
Thank you in advance (see below example) enter image description here

https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/scheduled-jobs-96567525.html tells what a scheduled job can do.
See if you can use that for what you want to do.

Yes, it is possible to have your ‘fact of the day’ automatically refresh with a new one once a day in Confluence. One way to achieve this is by using an add-on called “Confluence Automation”.

Here’s how you can set it up:

      1. Install the “Confluence Automation” add-on from the Atlassian Marketplace.

      2. Create a new page in Confluence and add your ‘fact of the day’.

      3. Click on the “Automate” button on the top right corner of the page.

      4. Choose “Schedule” as the trigger type.

      5. Set the frequency to “Daily” and select the time of day you want the page to refresh.

      6. Click on the “Add action” button and choose “Edit page”.

      7. In the “Edit page” action, select “Update page content” as the operation.

      8. Edit the content of your page with the new ‘fact of the day’ and save the changes.

      9. Click on the “Publish” button to activate your automation rule.

Now, your ‘fact of the day’ will automatically refresh with a new one once a day at the specified time. You can customize this process further by adding more actions, such as sending notifications or creating tasks, depending on your needs.

Lucky for you, there’s a way to automatically refresh your ‘fact of the day’ without having to do it manually. One option is to use an add-on like ConfiForms or Ad hoc Workflows, which have built-in features for automated updating. Another option is to use a script to update the content on your page. You can set up a script to pull new facts from a database or API and update your Confluence page on a daily basis.

Yes, this is possible. You can use an app or plugin like Confluence Daily Facts to set up an automated daily fact on your Confluence page. To do this, you will first need to install the app or plugin and then configure it to display a new fact each day. Once it is configured, the app or plugin will automatically update the page with a new fact every day.

Automation is an admin feature available in Confluence Premium and Enterprise. Rules are automated workflows constructed in an “If This, Then That” format. Each rule is made by combining different types of components: triggers, conditions, branches, and actions. Think of components as the building blocks of a rule.
