How come I can be right next to a cellphone tower yet still have such bad service, I know that it could be my cellphone provider but the provider I use should work the tower so I don’t understand the problem.

The towers are aligned/pointed to cover the greatest area possible for the most users. The towers are engineered to accomplish that. I have tested my phone within 50 feet of a local tower and got no coverage a few years back and that should be no surprise to anyone. The tower signal isn’t pointed directly down to the base of the tower. Each node used to broadcast/receive the cellular signal is expensive for the carrier to build and maintain.

I want to share a recent cell phone issue was cleared up when I noticed there were new versions of the SIM card issued by T-Mobile.

Called in and lucked out to have a top notch support person. They shipped out the new SIM cards and so much better.

TRUTH: Won’t fix lack of connectivity along sections of the I-8 in California but around Los Angeles to Vegas so much better.

It might be worth reaching out to your provider to see if there are any network issues in your area.
