1. You MUST be using TCP/IP at both locations, home and work office. 2. You can download a copy of VNC from the internet. It is free: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/
3. You better have some type of firewall at both your home and work. Here is a free PERSONAL firewall. If you use it at work, you must purchase the commercial version. http://www.zonealarm.com/
4. You will need to know the ip address of your internet connection at work. Install VNC on your computer at work and setup your password. 5. Make certain that your firewall will allow VNC to act as a server and be accessed from the internet. 6. From you home pc, open the vncviewr.exe. It will ask you for an IP address, type in the address from work. IT will then request your password. At this point you will have a desktop window of the computer at work. You can do any office work you want. 7. NOTE: VNC does not have any file transfer capabilities. If you need to transfer files, then get an FTP program. http://www.cuteftp.com/products/cuteftp/index.shtml CuteFTP has a trial version you can use for a few days. You will need to let your firewall know that you want CuteFTP to access the internet. If you like it, then you will need to purchase it. There may be other utilities on the Web that you can use. But I like the ones above for their ease of use. And also for the inexpensive price.
CAUTION: your firewall must be secure or you will be wide open to attacks and hackers.
From the info that you have given, the above should work
