Connect stereo system to computer

How do I connect my stereo system to my computer to copy older LP records? I do not know where to plug in the cable in the stereo system? I have a NERO Burner CD-R on my computer and comes with instructions saying where to plug in the cable on the computer and all it says to plug in to the stereo but where? My computer is running on XP.
