Connect to Internet

I cant connect my XP laptop to the internet. My computer is part of domain. The domain consist of more than 20 windows 2000 and XP computers. I can access the shared server drives. But i am not able to access the internet through internet explorer. We use DHCP in our doman, I have gone through Internet wizard, Ipconfig release and renew. And can also ping to the outside. But can't connect to internet. Please help!!!

It sounds like you are having a DNS lookup problem. One thing I would check is if you are setup to use an LMHosts file that is redirecting your named seeks another is what is chosen in network settings for TCPIP for a DNS? or is your DHCP setting DNS and if so to what? you can check this by opening a command window and type ipconfig /all then hit enter.
You must have a DNS server in order to resolve domain names like If you think this is the problem try opening browser and instead of use the ip address, this will not require a DNS. If you do not have a DNS server setup you will have to see what DNS you can use on your network from your IT guys.
