connect to local mapped drives

By jholan ·
Does anyone know how I can get Windows XP to connect to mapped drives (mapped to the local drive) when disconnected from the network. They work OK when connected to any network, but Windows does not allow the connection when it does not see a network connection of some sort.

wouldn't it have been easier to just create a desktop shortcut to the folder? What's the point of a mapped drive to your own machine?

I can only assume you have an app that requires a specific drive letter designation. Don't use NET USE in your script use the SUBST (substitute) command in your script. This will substitute the drive letter that you need. IE SUBST G: C:\share
