Connect wall access point to a modem or router

    by surfinggrrrl ·

Is it possible to set up a wireless connection between a router or modem to a wall mount access point? We have an access point, we cannot use, because it does not support an ethernet connection. Can we possibly get a second modem or router wihich supports a wireless connection, or bridge connections to the access point. We cannot get information on the access points internal settings, as it belongs to an isp. We live in a rental, in rural Mexico, so there are few internet options The acesss point was installed when our unilts were built However, We need the router to use a vpn.

    Any help appreciated
    Thanks

I can’t guess what you have now.
      1. Second MODEM. While some have done this, it costs a lot as your ISP charges for the second MODEM connection. So if you pay 50USD a month, the second MODEM costs another 50USD a month. NOBODY I KNOW DOES THIS!
      2. Routers can be configured as Wireless Access Points. This is to write these are exchangeable at times.

I can’t continue without the make and model of the access point you have.

Please tell the whole configuration, starting from the point where the Internet signal enters your house.

Using a VPN can be done by installing VPN software on your PC or laptop. Why do you need a router for that?
