Connecting a hybrid network

By osuno1 ·
I am using Small Business Server 4.5 on an IBM server with 3 Windows clients. I also have a two PC peer to peer network. How do I get the SBS clients to "see" the peer to peer clients?

Connecting a hybrid network

Assuming that they are on the same physical network:

The workgroup name must be the same as the domain name and be the same on all clients. This can be found in the network properties on the identification tab.

In addition, all clients must be using the same protocol. If you still have trouble you can add netbeui to each machine just to make sure they are seeing each other.

Lastly, if you want all clients to show up in the network neighborhood they must be setup with file and printsharing in the network components box. You can add these by clicking on the file and print sharing button in the net properties box.

Good Luck.

The peer to peer network does not have the same workgroup name as the SBS network. There in lies my question, can two different networks see each other?
