Connecting a scanner to a Windows XP computer

by donny.wilkins . Updated 18 years, 3 months ago

I am having problems getting my windows xp pc to recognize a Kodak DS3520 scanner. It keeps telling me the ASPI layer is missing. I am using an adrenaline EH-850-1000 scsi card to connect the pc and scanner. I went to the Kofax website where I was redirected to the adaptec website where I found the latest version of ASPI, 4.71.2. I loaded it to the machine using a command prompt. I used the check aspi utility and it shows that the pc has the latest version. I turned off my scanner and my pc. Turned the scanner back on and waited until it initialized. Then I started the pc back up and went to the application that will let me test the connectivity. I still get the message that it can’t find the scanner and that the ASPI layer is missing. Any other suggestions on how I can get my pc to recognize that the ASPI layer has been installed?
