connecting printer to computer network

By cfreedman ·
I have Win 2k and my husband has win98. We put in a router and got both of us on cable but don't really know how to set up the HP printer. We had a techie friend do it but shortly after we had to reformat the Win2k computer and lost the print information. We used win2k as the print server through the router. I cannot seem to connect them now even though the win98 still requires him to give a password upon booting up. I still show printer is shared but I know something else must be done to get it working again. Can you help me? I am really not a techie in this area at all.

You must remap the printer on the win 98 box.
Can you see shared drives on the 2k box? If so, just check the NN on the 98 box and the printer should show up. Any question feel free to email me. Mike.
