Connecting to another computer in workgr

By Shanghai Sam ·
I have 2 computers in a workgroup connected through a hub. One is WIN 2000 and the other one is WIN 98. I can access WIN 98 from WIN 2000 but I can't access WIN 2000 from Win 98. On WIN 98 the following network components are install:
-network client
-network adaptor
-network protocol
Can anybody give me some advice? Thanks

Connecting to another computer in workgr

by paulo_x In reply to Connecting to another com ...

To access W2k from W9x you must log on to W9x with some user credentials which are valid on the W2k computer.
Select "Client for Microsoft Networks" on the Network Components Dialog (W9x). Restart the computer and, when asked, log in with a login name and password wiche have access to the W2K computer (the W2k adminstrator account, for instance).
That should give you access to the W2K computer.
BOTH COMPUTERS MUST BE IN THE SAME WORKGROUP.

Hope I've helped.
