Connecting to Exchange Server through BD
I have recently installed Proxy Server on my BDC. I added the second network card and created a DHCP server with the intenal IP address, excluding a hand full of address for static use. Originally the the problem I had implimenting is Script Logic wouldn't run properly when using internal addressing. For the most part that seems to have worked itself out. Now my only remaining trouble is connecting to the exchange server. Whether connecting using DHCP or static internal IP, when opening outlook the connection times out and you get the message asking if you want to work off line. If I hit retry I will connect. Also once connected message delivery seems to be significantly delayed.
I added the exchange servers IP and name to my host file and increased the timeout for connection and most of the time now I don't have to chose to retry the connection I get it slowly but surly on the first attempt.
