I just bought a Netgear 2000 Wireless NADSL 2 + Modem Router and I kept getting DNS error on all web sites I try. CenturyLink is my ISP.

Lets look at this

Hi

is the Netgear router providing DHCP for the workstations having the issues (VS a Server box)? if so what are the IP settings for Basic settings in the netgear router. (under basic settings - DNS is it set to Get DNS from ISP)
Also you could try changing DNS to "use these" and point to an open DNS address as a test.

also just try turning off the router and the ISP's modem (since the Netgear WNR2000 is a router only model, but the netgear DGN2200 is a DSL modem and router combo) then turn on the modem then the router if it truly is a WNR2000 and not a DGN2200.

Also check you old modems settings to see if it was DHCP from the WAN side toand see if DNS was hard coded or provided over DHCP, if its hard coded then you need to add thet to your Netgear settings in the DNS section.

let me know if that helps

Settings

by louis.destasio In reply to Lets look at this

Good Morning,
I have the DGN2000 modem-router. DNS and DHCP are both set to automaticly get settings. Talking with Netgear they say I need CenturyLink to give me their settings. When I talk to CenturyLink they say just to make sure it's set to Dynamic DHCP. I have only seen settings for DHCP not Dynamic DHCP. Currently I am at work, but when I get home I will try your suggestions. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.
