Connecting Two XP computer via IEEE1394

By GunnerSixz ·
Here is the scenario, two computers with IEEE firewire. I want to transfer files from one to the other via this adapter. They can both ping each other but that is about it. How can I make them talk to each other and transfer files?
They are connected via the IEEE cable.
Any insight on this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

In settings, network connections, you need to add Direct Cable connection to the installed protocols.

In XP even if u are able to ping check if Local area connection is enabled to start talking to another PC. Then use a cross cable to connect two PCs. Now ping. if OK then check ipconfig and routes. if OK check if u can see the other PC in windows explorer. If all these did not work use L3Laplink. Very easy.
