    Connecting unrelated Exchange Servers

    I’m fairly new at Exchange 5.5, and we need our Exchange Server to talk to a partner company’s server in an unrelated domain. Mainly for sharing the global address lists.

    Does anyone know of any resources where some good information can be found about performing this operation and other related operations without having to change domain associations?

      Probably your best bet is going to be the Microsoft InterOrg Replication Utility. Exchange cares more that your servers are not part of the same Exchange Organization than it does that they are in different domains but this tool should do it for you.

      Microsoft has some pretty good resources on this and other Exchange tools on their TechNet site (http://www.microsoft.com/technet). I’ve also found some real useful information in a book called Managing and Maintaining Exchange Server v5.5 by Microsoft Press (ISBN #0-7356-0528-9)
