Can someone explain how I can connect a Canon USB Scanner Model Canoscan LIDE 20, to the network? to share as a resource

Yep, I can. I looked it up in the Big Book of Ain't Gonna Happen. It was there. There are some really expensive ways to scan over a network but you aren't gonna want to spend the money. I'm sure you'll reject my answer but you'll still never be ableto do it. You have to be standing at the scanner, especially this one, to scan a document. Sending takes a little more work.

To add to saihib's comments:

Even most "all-in-one" machines ONLY support their printing mode when networked.

All you can do, is dedicate a PC for use with the scanner and allow users to transfer the scanned images to their network folders from the scanner PC.
Actually, better yet would be to create a 'public' folder for all scanned documents.
