I know a bloke that hooked both the vga and the dvi leads to the monitor and the ports on the mobo at the same time, and when he booted up he got a message that the dvi was not detected. He then threw the vga lead away and hooked the dvi only but got the same message. He then reconnected the vga to both mobo and monitor without the dvi and it worked.
He sent the card down to me and I installed it in my system and it works a treat. That suggests that when they were both hooked up at the same time something went wrong with the software in his system.
Can someone please tell me what went wrong and why and how we can fix it without a reinstall. He reinstalled the original drivers from the disk but it made no difference.
