Add client to domain

by CharlieSpencer In reply to connecting win 2003 with ...

Assuming you set up the server with a domain name, you'll have to add the client to that domain. On the client, right-click My Computer. Under Computer Name tab, click the Network ID button.

thanks !!
I have done that already , but I got a message saying that "no DNS Servers configured for local system" , when I try to enter the Domain Name in the client machine.
I'd like to know if I have to configure DNS and DHCP Or to add the client in the Active Directory in the winn 2003 server.

dns forwarding

Have you alreayd setup a DNS server, to handle URL translations to either IPs or to MAC's? If you have, you can assign the role of DNS server under Win 2k3 to forward requests to the other DNS server.

The way I see it at the moment is to either do that or to setup your DNS at the moment, which can be annoying if you haven't already set it up.
