Constant unknown USB device notifications (need help)

For as long as I can remember I have been receiving constant notifications about an unknown USB device malfunctioning on my computer. I have been able to ignore it by muting my system sounds but I really want to resolve this as it is having an impact on performance in various programs, dropping my FPS whenever it would attempt to reconnect and creating large lag spikes.

I have attempted many of the solutions that people have for this sort of problem, including reinstalling my usb drivers, attempting to disable or uninstall the device but to no avail. I attempted to reset my PC but that hasn’t even been enough to get it to stop and that is what prompted me to make this post. It is making my life that bit more difficult for so long now and I would like some more suggestions on fixes.

The device comes up as an unidentified USB device that will appear for upwards of 2 seconds before disappearing and reconnecting again 4-5 seconds after. It comes up as a HID in a mod menu if that’s any help.

Try reinstalling USB controllers

Follow the steps below:
1. Go to Start => then type device manager in the Search box, and then select Device Manager.
2. Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers and then press, hold or right-click the device and select Uninstall.
3. Once uninstalling is complete, then restart your computer.
4. Your USB controllers will automatically be installed.
