Consulting

I’ve been in the desktop support business up to a decade and found that there is a grey area between techies and users. My point I’m trying to make, is it worth starting a consulting career specializing in desktop support to get my foot in the doorto open other opportunities. I’m in the process now, if you have any advice please let me know.
