Content advisor does not work

By hahoi11 ·
I am sorry, I have got my passwork changed
with an email address by accident.
My question is, just have been a month when I
open the Internet it always says: content
Advisor configulation information is missing.
Someone may tried to tamper withit. You may
want to check the content Advisor setting.
Before I enter my password in setting, it
worked, now it says: the password you enter
in is invalid. And does not work anymore.
Should I change a new password?
And when I open the emails it says: can not
find the ...For example, can not find
'C\WINDOWS\Favorites\Hotmail Inbox. url(or
one of its components). Make sure the path
and filename era correct and that all
required libraries are available.
I need help, please!

Don't know about your email problem, but here's how to rest your Content Advisor password.Click on Start, Run and type "regedit" and click OK. This brings you to the Registry Editor, which looks a bit like Windows Explorer.

First, make a backup by clicking on Registry, Export. Name it backup and click ok.

Now, if you have forgotten the Content Advisor password, you can delete it by browsing to this folder in Regedit:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVer sion\Policies\Ratings
Select the icon called Key in the right-hand pane and press delete. Close Regedit.

You can now start Internet Explorer and goto View, Internet Options.... Select the Content tab, and click on Disable. When asked for a password, don't enter anything, just click on OK. This will disable Content Advisor, since there's no longer a password.

Now you can enable it and give it a new password.

Just to add to ASyscoKid's answer...you will also have to delete your Ratings.pol file as well...it is corrupt. Search your drive for the file...it should be in your windows directory. Just delete it...it will be recreated if you re-enable Content Advisor

By the way...the ratings.pol file is likely a hidden file so you will have to turn on "Show Hidden Files"
