    Continuous Print Spool/Delete/Spool

    Locked

    by mccabe ·

I have an IBM N17 laser that is attached directly to a NT workstation and when you try to print something the print job shows up in the printer status window and goes into a continuous spool, deleting job, spool, deleting job cycle with no output. You have to stop/start the spooler service to clear this and I have tried service packs and new printer drivers. Any ideas ?

This problem arises if you printer – network printer and user (not admin preveleges), who print to this printer, tried to remove the task, when it already began to be printed.

Nothing restart spooler – restart printer or user’s computer.

Tell Microsoft about this problem. : ))

Check in a command prompt windows with “net use” command if you have any mapping to LPT(1). If exist, delete it using “net use lpt1: /delete” command.

Have u tried connecting the same printer with some other system to isolate whether it is a problem with your printer or system?
