Control Panel on Windows NT 4.0

By papajason ·
I can't get into Control Panel on my NT Server? I'm signed on as an Administrator. The control panel opened before I ran a backup, but after backup it would not open? Any ideas?

I think that happened to me once, too, a little while ago.
I got a little desparate , and decided it was a good time to reboot the server. (I know, rebooting the server is usually a bad idea, but sometimes it's helpful.)

Have you had a chance to reboot the server since you discovered this problem?

It sound like the control.exe file on your winnt/system32 directory might be damaged, or and associated file not working. Try the reboot. If that does not work. Try renaming the control.exe file and copying one over from another server.

I tried Rebooting... didn't change anything.
I ran a checkdisk on the System Drive, and that fisked the problem.
Thanks.
