Control W2K Server through the internet

Please if any one can tell me how can i manage my w2k server through the internet for example if i want to restart my server from any where by using IE??? what settings shall i made to my server to do soo???

Basically, remote administration of W2K is mostly through Terminal Services. And yes, you can run the TSClient from inside IE (as a plugin).

However you could open up Pandora's Box by having your W2K server not only linked to the Internet but also remotely accessible. Next to a complete firewall complex you'd also need a good remote authentication mechanism; simply default Terminal Server (userid/password) is way too little to stop a hacker taking over your server. Consider knowledge/possession mechanisms like RSA SecurID, many are Microsoft-certified and can plug in easily into W2K.

Another solution is called GoToMyPC. It does not use TServer but something similar, and they arrange a third component (GTMP server) in between which has secure login. Not cheap but an option if at present you don't have a good firewall complex and/or token-based logon.
