Conventional Memory/Win98… need help.

by jonmooney67 . Updated 18 years, 2 months ago

so i was on my windows 98 comp… i was just organizing some things, trying to delete some like photo shit and stuff…

eventually comp froze, so i restarted and my wallpaper loads then so does the main thing.

theres like the program thats always on, its explorer, but not internet. its like the CPU, cuz you end it and you freeze..

anyways so i see my wallpaper then a cmd box shows up titled “explorer” with the msdos symbol, and the msg that appears over it [making it so i cant click on anything] says,

“This program requires more conventional memory. Unload drivers or memory-residen programs that use conventional memory, or increase the value for minimum conventional memory in the programs memory properties sheet.”

So ive been up all night trying to do stuff to get to windows and delete stuff and baby my Comp but i havent been successful..

so like if i need to edit config or autoexec or any other files i need exactly what im supposed to put and where..

possible to get some help?
