Convert angles to coordinates

By Blackcurrant ·

Are there any surveyors here? I am after a program which can convert angles to coordinates.

I have several files created by National Survey Software and they contain HA, VA and distance readings. Usually we use the NSS software to covert the readings to eastings, northings and height coordinates.

The NSS software we are using is now unsupported and will only run on Windows 3.11. Our Windows 3.11 machine will not last much longer... If anyone knows of any standalone conversion software I can use to achieve this I would be very grateful.

Mathworks has the functions, but may be more than you need.

A low cost option would be to export the data to a spreadsheet and create formulas to convert as needed.

Then, export the new data as needed.

Here is a method that manipulates data in Oracle!

A software package called Eagle Point looks to be able to do all that you desire.

Here is a link to a PDF overview:

You are one cool dude. The links are great, and although the math is beyond me, they will certainly help someone else. I discovered that a program I have called N4ce can do the same thing simply by importing the data as a text file - one click and the data is converted to coordinates.
