Convert Julian Date to a regular Date

I have an Excel spreadsheet that has Julian Dates. How do I convert the Julian Date into a regular date? For example 2005270 = 9/27/05. OR
I have a dates (example ‘42001’) that I’m trying to convert to a regular date 4/20/01. When I change the cell to a date field, I get 12/28/14.
