Convert Linksys SRW2016 from Layer2 to Layer3

By powlboyjr ·
I am having trouble trying to change my Linksys SRW2016 from a Layer2 to a Layer3 Managed switch. It is in default configuration right now so i login using "admin" with no password through hyperterminal. Option 4 is "System Mode". I select that and I am at the "System Mode Selection" screen. However, I am unable to modify the current system mode from Layer 2 to Layer 3.

Do I need to download different firmware to take advantage of Layer 3 technologies, or is this switch unable to perform these duties. Thanks for your help.

I am fairly sure that the SRW2016 is only a L2 switch. It may be 'Layer 3 aware', but that's not the same as being a L3 switch/router.

System Mode Selection changes from Jumbo gig frames to regular gig frames.

that's what I figured, because I think I saw another model number as being actual layer 3. Thanks for the help.
