Several months ago, I’ve been given the task of administrating a school computer lab. The setup is a Windows NT4 server and RedHat Linux 6.2 server (acting as home directory file server) and NT4 workstations. For the spring semester, we’ll be going to Windows XP. Is there a way to convert the linux server into a Windows XP server while keeping the home directories intact (such as ownership and permissions)? (The current NT4 server will be upgraded to XP server, also.)
