Converting FTP download results

By lschierl ·
If possible I'd like to find a FTP utility that can automatically convert Windows NT FTP
results to a fixed length format so I can do some calculations. We are bringing data down from the 400 to NT and the data formats are different CSV vs. Fixed Length. I know what I'm asking is kinda wierd. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance !!!

As stated above, user the function to throw the text to a file.

go to the dir you need and type:
dir > stuff.txt

then open stuff.txt, it should be on the root of C drive.

You can also see various outputs for the dir command such as
dir /w/a /o
to see a more defined list, go to a DOS prompt and type dir /?
this will tell you how to use dir more effectively, choose the extra commands yuou want to use then apply them to the output command like this

dir /oe /s /4 > stuff.txt

That is the one I believe you need. . . ?

Hope this helps!
