converting leading edge documents

By SS_Nova ·
I have some floppy disks with leading edge documents on them created sometime around the year 1988.
the boss man has now decided that he needs this information off of those disks ASAP
I can't find this software within our company and I tried converting, but asci caracters are all over the place with formatting all screwed up.
can someone point me in a direction on how to get this information extracted properly?

converting leading edge documents

by Joseph Moore In reply to converting leading edge d ...

I found a bunch of posts on other boards where people are looking for LEWP (Leading Edge Word Processor). You could try that route to find a responce where someone said they had version 1.3 or 1.5.
Or, try this:
R-Doc/X? - Word Processing Conversion Software
R-Doc/X? converts document files from older word processors to something modern such as Microsoft Word or WordPerfect. In most cases, it is the only product we know of to convert from these word processors.
Converts Leading Edge WP (LEWP), WordMarc Composer/Composer+, Spellbinder, OfficeWriter, Volkswriter and many other programs.

Here is the URL for this product.

The only bad thing: the price is $149.
But if your boss "really" wants the files, this is his only option (at least that I could find)

hope this helps
