Converting Modem form Tone to Pulse

By kmatabula ·
I recently Purchased a US Robotics 56k Voice/Fax Modem. The problem is it only dials tone but cannot dial Pulse.
How do i convert it to dial pulse in that it does not have jumpers and there is no provision for converting Manually

There should be a place for modem codes. In there... convert any ADT's to ADP.

The T is for Tone
The P is for Pulse

AT Modem Command Set:
http://support.paonline.com/atcmds.htm

All modems use this.

There should be an option for Tone or Pulse dialing in the dialing properties dialog box for either the Modem itself (Control Panel / Modems)

Or, in the dial properties for your internet connection.

I just checked the properties for my US Robotics modem on my XP box, and there was NOT any option to select Pulse dialing.

Interestingly, none of the data sheets for the newer USR modems even mention a pulse dialing option.
It is VERY possible that USR has dropped the pulse dialing option from their modem products.

As a side note, most 56K modems are software controlled, and have NO jumpers.
All settings are taken care of by the driver software.
This is very true, if you have a "WinModem" (controller-less) style modem.
