Have a user with a fresh W2Kpro install with 512MB ram. Only software installed is MS Office2000 and Corel Wordperfect 8. User is a heavy document producer and routinely copies/pastes large blocks of text from one WP8 doc to another and/or into Outlook 2000 messages.
Copy/paste function will fail after an hour or so of document production.
Typically, if a user copies a spacebar entry, it will clear the clipboard and function will return. Running clipbrd at command prompt and clearing should also work as a stop gag fix. In this case, neither of the solutions work on this install.
Because of the amount of RAM on the workstation, this certainly wouldn’t appear to be a memory/buffer issue.
When the clipboard is working and you access it from the command prompt and choose view from the menu, the available types do not include WordPerfect data, Wordperfect text or rich text format even though the text is display properly.
On failure of the copy/paste function, closing theapplication will temporarily resolve the issue. The application does not error out or hang, it just wont copy/paste text.
Does any one have a good suggestion as to the root of the problem and a permanent fix?
