Copying a dvd using clone application!

Hi, I started receiving a bad media error a few months ago ,all of a sudden ,it was suggested i go back to earlier version of clone to correct ,but that did not work < what confuses me most is that i cannot copy out of nero or dvd xcopy any more either , my samsung driver says it has the latest updates ,does anyone know how to correct this , also my windows xp system is a boot leg ,so I cannot reach out to see if my xp system is missing something,but why would it just stop working after 6 months of success ?
