Copying CDs on XP to be read on Win 98SE

I am finding problems copying CDs using Windows XP (Home Edition) for use on Windows 98 SE. I am using Ahead Nero, and when I copy files, they transfer to the CD just fine – and I can read them on my computer but, when I put the new CD into a computer running Windows 98SE, I get an error message saying “Drive not ready”, and I cannot access the copied CD. Help anyone?
