copying text from a scanned document

With Win XP SP2, will it be possible to copy text in word document that I scanned. If so pls tell how to go about doing that.

If I understood correctly, you want to have a scanned image of a text document in Word format, right?
If so, try this:

That's for hand written scans, I had printed a document and now I want to scann it and select certain text, is that possible

Select the text you wish to in the source file of that printout

Actually OCR doesn't manage hand written text too well, the software under the link in the previous post is for printed documents.
By the way, if You have printed that document from your computer why not just open it in Word and select the text you want in the document?
