Core Switch dasy chain

By mihouser ·
We have a old Cisco 3524 switch and also some Linksys SLM2024s. My question is. Should I dasy chain the switches togeather or have the SML2024's going right into the core Cisco switch?

It is not a good idea to ever daisy-chain ethernet switches

Besides the obvious issue of creating a single point of failure, it is likely that the uplink to the Cisco switch will get over-subscribed, even if it's a gigabit uplink.

Connect each Linksys switch directly to the Cisco switch

This way you're putting the load on the core switch where it belongs and not simply increasing the load on each upstream switch.
