corrupt cabinet file

By Todd B. ·
I'm trying to load windows media player 7 on a windows 2000 pro machine. I have 128megs of ram and a 10 gig hd. I keep getting an error that says low memory or corrupt cabinet file. What can I do to stop this or how do I fix the cabinet file?

It sounds like you have plenty of memory but it depends on what you have runnning in the background. try eleiminate some of the programs from autostart. these are located in the registry entry hklm/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/run.
if yoiu have a corrup cab file you need to rplace it. If you donwloaded MP7 you need to download it again (can be a pain if you have a slow connection).
Good luck
