corrupted boot disk

By Ton Mol ·
i've installed RH7.1 (on a i686, together with W98se) and it worked fine.
but somehow the floppy i used te start up my machine with linux, has been corrupted.
does anyone know whether there is a way to startup linex anyway, with the installationdisk for instance?

copy the vmlinuz and the loadlin program to a folder.

Then make a batch file. The syntax is similar to the one in the "autoboot.bat" in dosutils.

Haven't come across this problem in a while,
but I think running 'mkbootdisk' will make a
boot disk that will boot you back into
Linux. If you can't get into Linux in order
to do that, then you're going to have to
figure out which partition had your /boot
filesystem and reinstall lilo unto a floppy.
As the other poster mentioned, the best way
to do this would be to use your original CD
to make one for starters and then edit the
lilo.conf file until you 'hit' the right
partition.
