Corrupted excel file on a floppy drive

by edudley . Updated 25 years, 10 months ago

I have an excel file that has been saved only to a floppy drive. The file has gotten corrupted. I ran Norton disk doctor and it did detect a bad spot and moved the data but excel still cannot open the file. I get an error “unable to open file”. I am using office 97 sr-2. I have tried to open this on another machine and I still am having troubles. It does allow me to copy the file to another location but I can’t open the file from that location either. I have run Norton antivirus against the file also. Does anyone know of a utility that could save most or all of the data?
