Corrupted files in Windows 98 SE

by ojmj . Updated 24 years, 11 months ago

I had an experience with a computer virus recently and it looks like some files were corrupted within Windows 98SE. Running custom-built PIII 400MHz 20Gb 256Meg RAM.

When using the internet (Navigator browser) a page will sometimes (intermittently) cause the browser to close. Have ordered new version disk from Netscape, and will install it when it comes in later this week.

The same shutdown occurs in Microsoft Internet Explorer, but only if Netscape is open and has the error.

I have seen the (setup?) command for verifying files within Win98SE on here before, but didn’t print it out. Could someone list it again? Also, anything else I should remember to do?

Thanks!

O.J.
