Corrupted Password

By sharong ·
I changed my admnistrator password on Windows NT workstation 4.0 - file system NTFS, and it was accepted. However, after rebooting, it locked me out of the system. The password contains a pipe (|) which I understand is not allowed. How can I fix this without rebuilding?.
The other user on my system doesn't have administrator access.

If this computer is a member of an NT domain, then domain admins should be local admins to this ws. They can log on and change the local admin pw.

Take the space out after the question mark. That always seems to happen when I paste an URL from here....
