Could someone be prying my network?

By lawbantell ·
I am on a Win2K network; I was to support a user and I realized the Yahoo Chat Window on his PC had the user's Yahoo login name, the Domain PC Fully Qualified Domain Name and the correct network IP address.

With a Proxy Server being implemeted onour network, I don't expect the correct IP addresses and FQDN of these PCs to be displayed, what do you think?

If you're behind a proxy server, then your internal IP address is not sent out on the internet. All internal addresses are 'masked' with one public address that you get from your ISP.

As long as for user credentials, care must be taken at all times, whether it's "in" or "outside" your network.
